I am a 61-year-old male with liver cirrhosis caused by Hep-C. I am now having swelling on both legs, the right more than the left. I ve worn compression socks but I don t see much of a change. What could be the cause of the swelling and what should I do?
Because of portal hypertension and by sodium and water retention in that edema can occur. For that diuretic drug prescribed. Take a low salt diet. For portal hypertension, if the needed beta-blocker drug prescribed. Consult a physician or gastroenterologist for examination and get a prescription.
