What Causes Swelling In The Lips While Suffering From Pneumonia?

My son has been diagnosed with pneumonia. He has no SHOB, but his lower lip is swollen mainly on the right side. He has not been hit in the face and there is no tongue swelling or weird spots in his mouth. He has also been running a low grade fever off and on for 7 days. His WBC was 17,000 yesterday. My question is what could the lip swelling be caused by? The physician at urgent care didn t really touch base with me on this subject but advised me to see his PCP in the morning.
