What Causes Swelling In The Lower Leg Post Cellulitis Treatment?
I have recurring cellulitis in my lower right leg. Have had for about 10 yrs. At the onset of a recurrence, I begin taking Levaquin, usually for about 6-7 days until all redness & heat are gone. It always swells up, as well, but when heat and redness are gone, it always goes away too. Not this time. My leg swells every morning within 30 mins. of waking up (it s near normal when I get up). Dr. put me on doxycycline this time for 10 days. Heat & redness gone, swelling persists. He believes that I have had recurrences so many times that my veins have collapsed or are weighted down by damaged skin. Your thoughts?
So elevate the limb at night time or use crepe bandage if necessary. Get it done color Doppler of lower limb. Then consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
