What Causes Swelling In The Lymph Node And Soreness In Throat?
Have a slightly swollen area (my mom says its a lymph node) on the left side of my neck. It is just behind the ear and down a bit. Had a sore throat yesterday but it is gone today. I also have a bit of a breakout around the hairline in the same area which is sort of stinging a bit.
Understanding your concern. As per your query swelling in the lymph node and soreness in throat are symptoms of strep throat which is a bacterial infection. It is leading to granular pharyngitis. Need not to panic about it. Do warm saline gargles. Sip on luke warm water. Hot milk with a pinch of turmeric boiled with it at bed time for 2-3 days. Antibiotics are first line of treatment option in this case. In case of mild fever you can take Calpol or paracetamol for relief as well as it will relieve throat pain too. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Maintain oral hygiene. Take proper course of antibiotics. Get blood tests done if required. You should avoid cold carbonated beverages.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
