What Causes Swelling In The Neck And Lymph Nodes After Dental Extraction?
I had a tooth extraction back in April since then I have had constant swelling in my neck and lymphnodes are permenantly swollen and it is extreemly sensitive to hot and cold and now under my jaw there feels like almost a blister below the extraxtion site
As per your complain it seems that swelling of lymph nodes after months of tooth extraction is not commonly seen..
It can occur only in the condition if there is incomplete removal of tooth and some portion. Tooth or its root is still present in the bone and causing flaring up of infection leading to lymph node swelling and pain..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and an x ray of extraction site has to be done followed by Biopsy/FNAC of the lymph nodes..
In case if any tooth piece is left out then removal of same followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help.. Do cool compresses over the lymph nodes..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
