What Causes Swelling In The Neck, Face And Eyes While On Diclofenac?

Hello I have had a bad reaction to leflonamide, zeljanz, and now diclofanac. They all make me sun sensitive and I get a swollen face and neck and eyes are swollen shut and rash and itching and have to go to the ER and they put me on loads of prednisone. I am also on Orencia but that does not effect me. Do these other meds have something in common that gives me this bad rash. After a few days my face looks like a chemical burn and peals. I always wear a sunblock on my face and anything that is exposed. When it happened the first time I thought I had poison ivy . I have never been sensitive to the sun.

Hi,

I would explain all these drugs belong to different pharmacological classes, but they have in common increased potosensitivity as a common adverse effect.

For this reason, I would recommend avoiding sun exposure when taking these drugs.

Instead of Diclofenac, you can try Naproxen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
