What Causes Swelling In The Thighs After Receiving A Flu Shot?

My grand daughter is 7 months old . She was a micropreemie at 1lb 13oz at birth. The only health problem is hypoglycemia. She received a flu shot last Thursday and that leg about 3 days later is swollen around the thigh she has been to 2 emergency rooms, the pediatrician and orthopedic doctor with no answers. Xray was normal. Is there anything we should ask to get checked? Or something they are missing... there is swelling she doesn t move it as much as she used to doesn t wiggle her toes like she used to and sometimes you can move it around and she is ok and other times she is screaming bloody murder. I just want ideas of what else to check for. Please any advise would be appreciated

hi sir/mam I can understand your apprehension.just relax.its mostly an injection site haematology.leg movements are restricted due to pain.regarding wiggling of fingers, just observe if your baby is completely unable to move fingers.it shouldn’t be so and surely movements might have reduced.range of movements assume their normalcy once the hematoma starts subsiding.the following are the recommendations :
1)warm compressors on swelling
2)any ibuprofen and paracetamol combination syrup would help in reducing pain
even after the swelling subsides,if the limb continues to be weak with no movements, you need a neurologist consultation.hope my answer allays your anxiety.any further queries are welcome with pleasure.wish you and your family a happy, healthy and peaceful new year.thank you.take care.bye.
