What Causes Swelling In The Throat After Eating Out?

Last night, I ate chicken wings around 7pm. Around 10pm, we had a few more, with the same Blue Cheese Dip I always have from a local eatery. Daughter is an athletic trainer and looked at me in amazement as my throat started bulding up like two small water balloons around my throat. I took Benadril but that did not help. I had not problem breathing. Slept well but this AM throat was still somewhat swollen but not as bad. Around 4pm, we went to longhorns. I ordered the Shrimp and Lobster bisque and after two bites, I felt a slight burning from the ingrediants hitting the back of my throat and I ballooned up again. It is sore to the touch now, no sore throught though, just sore to touch from the outside. ????

Hello,

You may be developed pharyngitis or acid reflux with corrosion of throat wall.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks.

Use water vapour inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
