What Causes Swelling In The Tongue While Suffering From A Tooth Infection?
I have a very bad tooth infection the gums and tongue is swelled up large I've got some amoxicillin for a bladder infection from my girlfriend she says that it should work I'm just wondering is it going to work or should I even bother taking them antibiotics
As per your complain t seems that you have severe tooth infection that has led to ABSCESS formation that is causing swelling.. However swelling of tongue is not commonly seen during tooth infection..
Although Amoxicillin is given in case of tooth infection but it may not be enough and you might need treatment of the tooth along with medication to resolve the problem..
My suggestion is that you should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray will help in ruling out the exact cause and will be treated accordingly..
The dentist might advice you Root Canal treatment or extraction depending on condition of the tooth and severity of infection..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
