What Causes Swelling In The Vaginal Area With Release Of Mucous Plug?

My daughter called me saying that she has been experiencing lower back pain. However today she experienced sudden pain in her vaginal area. She said her vagina felt swollen and it was painful. She had to keep her legs spread apart because the pain was too intense. She said she took a bath in warm water and she said the swelling felt better and her pain improved. Then she had an urge to urinate and she said when she did she released a mucous plug. She says the pain has turned to pressure but had a difficult time walking her dog this evening because she still feels like her insides are swollen. Can you tell us what it could be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, any infection of genital area can cause swelling n intern discharge. so need to find out what infection, otherwise for pressure or heavy feeling that could be an infected cyst or boil. Try giving anti inflammatory drugs. if not examination of that area would be helpful.
