What Causes Swelling Knot In Leg Below But Off To The Side Of Knee, Ankle,foot?

Woke up this morning with a knot in my leg below but off to the side of my knee its painful & swollen and very warm to the touch. I didn't injure myself ive been sick for a week with bronchitis & a touch of pneumonia so haven't done anythingto injure it. I now have a swollen ankle as well and the pain is going down the leg into the foot

Hi there.

As per your symptoms I think this might be secondary infection of the joint .....the primary site being your bronchitis.

You need to immediately get admitted in hospital and start on intravenous antibiotics cefuroxime and linezolid under supervision of an orthopedician.
Apply cold compresses or ice packs to the part.
Comlete bed rest and leg elevation over 2 pillows is to be done.
Take anti inflammatory medicine like diclofenac.
