What Causes Swelling Lips, Soreness In Feet And Severe Rashes And Abdominal Cramps When Taken Penicillin?
Hi I got a realy bad allergic reation to pennicillin yesterday I went to a&e at 8 am and they injected me with antihistime. (not too sure). by 3 pm I was discharged from A&e as all the swelling and itching had gone I was just left with spots all over. i was perscribed 1 pirton tablet 4 times a day and 6 prednisolone once a day. I took 1 dose yesterday at 6pm but this morning I woke up with swollen lips and sore arches in my feet and a more severe rash today I also had really bad stomach cramps this morning with diorrea and vometing this morning. why is this still happening?

Penicillin is known to cause an allergic reaction in some and before giving, a small sensitivity test should be done.
Or in case you had a previous allergic reaction to penicillin as well, you should have informed the same to your doctor.
Since you had the reaction, you are being given Pirton and Prednisolone to reduce it. Don't worry, you should be fine in few days time.
You may be given other antibiotics now instead of penicillin.
Also, remember to inform your doctor about this the next time you seek treatment for an infection and are being prescribed antibiotics.
