If I was your treating physician I would have prescribed you Amoxicillin antibiotic, if not allergic to, combined with Ibuprofen, Claritin and mouthwas gargles with listerine, and ofcourse a follow-up after 7 days. Consult your physician for prescription of the drugs. For ankle swelling consult your physician to rule out kidney, liver and heart disease. This is a separate issue, no connection with the pharyngitis. So it needs to be ruled out, what is causing it. Other reasons are high blood pressure and some medications side effect.
