What Causes Swelling Of Lips With Severe Coughing?

I have had a cold and when I go to sleep, I can't stop coughing. The cold started more than a week ago. Yesterday, I went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics (duration of symptoms) and a cough suppressant. I just woke up after my usual coughing until I can't stand it anymore and my lips are really swollen. Can lips swell if you cough too much?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern but your lips are probably swallen as an allergic reaction on prescripted antibiotics. My suggestion is to stop using these antibiotics and visit your GP as soon as possible to get another one. If you feel any other symptom like choking, swallowing of your tongue or other parts od your body, weakness, dizzines, go to ER immediately.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
