What Causes Swelling Of Lymph Nodes While Wearing Dentures?
Hi i had new dentures 3 weeks ago. I wear it sometimes. When i wore it 2 days ago my lymph nodes swollen after wearing it for a few hours so i took it off. Today i used the dentures and few hours later my lymph nodes swollen again. What is the cause this?
As per your query you have symptoms of swollen lymph nodes after wearing dentures is because wearing dental appliances such as dentures alters the oral microflora. A microbial plaque composed of bacteria and yeasts forms on the fitting surface of the denture and on the mucosa which is covered. The local environment under a denture is more acidic and less exposed to the cleansing action of saliva, which favors high Candida enzymatic activity and may cause inflammation in the mucosa and soreness and swelling of lymphnodes.
Allergy to acrylic of denture is another possible cause for swollen lymph node of yours.
Need not to panic about it. Maintain dental hygiene. Clean denture completely and use solutions of alkaline peroxides, alkaline hypochlorites to wash denture. Use of topical anti fungal medications such as Nystatin suspensions are very effective. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Take proper antibiotic course of Amoxicillin.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
