What Causes Swelling Of The Femoral Artery After Catheter Ablation?
following catheter ablation for SVT, is swelling of the femoral artery common (length a little larger than a quarter along vessel) where palpation does not seem to indicate either an aneurysm or pseudo aneurysm - and if so, how long does it take to resolve? No pain associated with swelling; insertion site clean no indication of infection. This is first procedure so do not think it is a septic bolus either.
There can be collection of blood (haematoma ) surrounding the femoral artery which is quite common after the puncture of a vessel. It will disappear in due course.
