What Causes Swelling On The Ankle After An Injury?

I got hit with a line drive while playing softball on the inside ankle of my right foot. It started swelling immediately. The thing is i can walk and have full range of motion. It just hurts to run. There is bruising on the top portion of my ankle. It is tinder to touch but not that painful.

Hello,

You should not move the swollen ankle. Keep it raised and immobilized. Apply cold compresses locally, and analgesic cream.

After the first 72 hours, should apply alternating cold and warm compresses until blood is totally dissolved (bruise you have noted).
