What Causes Swelling On The Face?

Hey. Two days ago my grandmother had and Implantable Cardiovascular Defirbilator installed. After the surgery, the doctors put blood in her from a volunteer. She previosly had a pacemaker, she has about 20% heart left, glicomia, and diebetes. Over the period of a few hours her face is really swelled up. Is this normal? If not, what are the possibilites that caused this?

No, it is not normal. Considerations include a reaction to blood and a problem with the leads from the defibrillator. The investigations for both are a matter of routine (blood test and ultrasound of heart and veins) and should have an answer for you within hours.
