What Causes Swelling On The Sides Of Mouth After Eating?

Both of my cheeks swelled on the inside of my mouth after I had a salami and mozz sandwich. The salami was super spicy. Is this why? I feel like on the left side only, I was feeling a little weird on the inside of my cheek for a day or two though. I kept touching it with my tongue. But the swelling got bad on both sides after eating. It also leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems more to be due to allergic reaction that is caused due to some of the ingredient of the sandwich and it is leading to the swelling and other symptoms..

Other cause can be inflammation of the mucosa caused by excessive intake of spices as they can cause chemical injury to the mucous membranes..

Nothing to worry, you can take anti-allergic medicine like Cetrizine or Fexofenidine [allegra].
Do cold water rinses and if there is pain and soreness take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
