What Causes Swelling On The Thyroid Gland And Burning Sensation?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 8 years ago. This year, I had my TSH tested and it was high. My doctor increased my Levothyroxine from 1.25 to 1.5. I just got my test results back and my TSH is .04. My thyroid looks swollen and I have a burning sensation. I m sure I ll hear from my doctor, but, I just got the electronic tests and it s freaking me out and I can t sleep. Also, I don t plan to take my medicine until I can talk with her tomorrow.

Hi welcome to the health care magic

Whenever TSH level are high than for treating hypothyroidism usually dose of levothyroxine is increased but regular monitoring of TSH is needed

When TSH level comes within normal limits than low maintenance dose of levothyroxine is given....

This time your TSH is very low suggest drug induced secondary hyperthyroidism..

So yes you should consult your treating physician or endocrinologist for examination and dose adjustment at very low dose now

Take care

Avoid stress

Hope this will help you
