What Causes Swelling, Pain And Dark Discolouration In Testicle After A Surgery?
My husband has recently had a surgery for hydrostatic leak for testicle and he has been treating the pain. with extra strength Tylenol and so far has taken 2 advil also. he is quite swollen but he is concerned about the area of stitching that appears to be quite dark in colour and with having showered sees no improvement and major discomfort when standing and sitting. Layin down in regular intervals however the concern is that is the blackness old blood or is this something else that is developing Showering regulary as instructed 24 hours after the surgery. He is five days in for recovery and has an appointment on Tuesday with specialist that did the procedure

Noted the history about your husband undergoing surgery of scrotum, developed pain, swelling and darkness at the operation site and the appointment is late, taking shower as advised, took extra strength Tylenol and Advil also.
The history indicates that there is either hematoma formation or infection that has set in.
Hence I would advise him to go to ER for knowing the diagnosis, get investigated and get treated with proper antibiotics and anti-inflammatory as needed.
Give scrotal support.
Take rest.
Apply Liquid povidone iodine locally.
