What Causes Swelling, Tenderness And Pain In Temple, Ear And Behind Earlobe?

About a week ago I noticed swelling in my temple. There is redness and it hurts. A couple of days after, I also had swelling and pain in ftont of my ear and behind my earlobe. I went to see my doctor, but she really couldn t give me a diagnosis; she prescribed me an antibiotic and ointment (Mupirocin). The swelling has gone down just a little, but there is still some, there is tenderness, and I have a throbbing burning pain in the temple area. Should I look for a 2nd opinion? What kind of doctor should I see? What could it be?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
I can understand ur concerns.
Consult an ENT SPECIALIST. it may be Maxillary bone(inner ear) infection. He can diagnose it very well as he is trained to treat such cases.

Have a nice time. Give feedback so that I may assist u better next time.
Regards!
