What Causes Swelling/tenderness In Forearm After Having Arm Fracture?

I have an upper arm fracture from falling off a ladder.I went to the hospital about 2 weeks ago. My break seems to be healing but now I am having swelling and tenderness in my forearm.I have a splint on and I was told by a DR it would heal in about 6weeks without surgery ,now this swelling and tenderness in my forearm has me worried.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that you got upper arm fracture in upper arm by falling from the ladder. Your break seems to healing but now You are having swelling and tenderness with splint on.Don't worry much as probably it has united but it has not consolidated.It will have tenderness and pain till it consolidate . However complete assessment will be possible by x -rays. You can take analgesic such as ibuprofen for pain relief . Vit D and calcium help in healing.You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
