What Causes Swelling, Throbbing And Mild Bruise Around The Wound?
I have what I think is a spider bite. It happened three mornings ago and there is swelling around the bite, and throbbing, like a mild bruise; it also hurts to the touch. The wound is open, but dry, and not more than 1mm in diameter, but I'm still unsure. It could just be a bug bite that I'm worried about.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it can be a spider or bug bite and the symptoms can be due to allergic reaction to the toxic venom that is injected by the organism inside the skin.. It can also be due to hair follicle infection causing the symptoms of redness, swelling and throbbing.. I would suggest you to take anti allergics like Benadryl and a short course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin.. You can clean the wound with anti septic solution and apply a combination of antibiotic ointment and steroid ointment over it.. Do cool compresses.. If there is no improvement in a week consult a General Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
