What Causes Swelling Under The Ears, post Nasal Drip And Sinus Pain?

Hi, I have swelling just under and in front of my ear. There is no pain and I have no other symptoms, but just a thickening it seems..other people have had not noticed it. I have had problems with blocked salivary glands earlier caused by delays in eating. These were bilateral and painful and would subside with eating. I also have post nasal drip, and pain related to sinsuses. Can you help! Thanks!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern.
the presence of post nasal drip, pain of the sinuses points out towards sinusitis.
i would advise antibiotics like amoxicillin+clavulanate for five days.
anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen or aceclofenac would be helpful.
kindly do steam inhalation intermittently. this has been found to be very beneficial.
if the problem persists a steroid inhaler like fluticasone can be used for three weeks.
avoid cold water and ice creams.
hope you are satisfied with the response. feel free for further queries. thanks for choosing HCM.
I find this answer helpful
