Hi,

Costochondritis (not uncommon) in women, usually on the left side can give rise to soft tissue swelling around the costochondral junction and associated with pain. Fibromyalgia (FM) is often associated with other chronic musculoskeletal co-morbidities. USG (Ultrasound) examination is advised to delineate the nature of the swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas,
