What Causes Swollen And Itchy Caruncle Of The Eye?
the caruncle in my right eye is swollen up, itchy, and the eye ball is red. I have been trying not to rub it but every now and then I give in. It has been this way for at least 3 days. I ve used allergy pills and eye drops to try and relieve the pain. I have also plucked a few eye lashes out of the caruncle - I thought that was a part of the itchy feeling.

The symptoms you are having itching and swelling of the eye indicates allergic condition of the eye like allergic conjunctivitis.
The treatment is by use of anti allergic drugs and antihistamine eye drops.
The non responding and severe cases may require steroid eye drops.
