Nipples are sensitive, and they can hurt due to many reasons. Tight clothes, rashes, and infections can all irritate the tender skin. Wear soft cotton clothes, take care of your hygiene, take bath daily. Do not touch or scratch the affected area around your nipples. Bumps associated with
redness or rash can indicate yeast infection or, in rare cases,
breast cancer. If it is due to yeast infection. A course of oral antifungals can help. Application of a thin layer of
clotrimazole cream may be effective.
You can take
acetaminophen, one SOS when required to ease pain, discomfort and sensitiveness. Swollen bump around the nipple can indicate sub-areolar abscesses, which are painful and may cause you to feel unwell. You are suggested to get clinically get examined by a gynecologist, get all required tests, investigations,
mammography, imaging tests done to detect the pathology causing your discomfort. You will be treated accordingly.
