Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.
Swelling round ankles doesn't always mean heart failure, it can be normal as well in people who stay sitting standing for a longer duration like teachers, office workers, guards, sales men etc, you have to consider these causes as well plus there can be other issues causing this edema.
If this swelling around ankles is quite considerable you should visit your doctor anytime convenient, this isn't an emergency but you can discuss the problem with your doctor he can do simple tests like ECG and blood works to see if it can be heart failure or some other cause. There is nothing to worry about. Everything should be fine in my opinion.
I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you. Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
