What Causes Swollen Ankles, Knees And Painful Joints?

I have swollen ankles & knees and painful joints, all of them. I ve seen 2 doctors. They think it may by a viral infection and could take up to 6 weeks to get better. I ve had it for 3 weeks. I m taking Aleve, resting & elevating & icing when I can. I am better the last 3 days but still have all the symptoms.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to the HCM
Brief answer..it could be rheumatoid arthritis.
Detailed answer..
I have gone through your history and it seems that you are probably having arthritis.Since viral infection mostly does not take that long to resolve ; so i would suggest to get some blood tests done ,for example...RA factor and ANA factor and discuss further with rhrumatologist..
Hopefully my answer will be helpfull.
