Swollen, irritated bottom left labia minora. It was very swollen and irritable yesterday. Today it is less swollen and less irritable, looks like a patch of irritated skin that is the source of the swelling. I can t tell if there are actually any bumps. However, it looks like it could be a cluster of bumps, but i don t know if that is just my raw skin. It looks like there could possibly be one small sore, but i am not 100% positive. However, when I wiped the spot with a tissue there was a tiny spot of pink on the tissue. Discharge is thicker white. Could this be a yeast infection causing a rash? Or is it an STD?
Hello. I a sorry you are suffering with this. From what you describe, a yeast infection is not too likely, especially since you do not mention itching. The irritated area could possibly be related to an STD, but might just as well be due to friction or abrasion, perhaps from an undergarment (thong, for example). Another possibility is the beginning of a bacterial infection. If you shave close to the area, the risk of introducing bacteria is increased. Sometimes what starts out like this can end up as an abscess requiring drainage. My suggestion is that you be examined in person by a competent medical professional who is familiar with female genital problems. It is important to pin this down, not just for your own wellbeing, but to rule out the possibility of an STD, which of course is highly contagious.
