Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello , I have a bump on my elbow and its swelling quiet fast . It had a black head I believe and when it busted blood and pus came out and now it s still swollen and clear liquid is coming out can you tell me what this is and what I need to treat it ?
As per your query you have swollen bump on elbow which seems to be due to hair folliculitis. Need not to worry. For now keep your arm clean and dry and do not expose it to sun outside. Apply topical antibacterial ointment. Protect your skin from direct sunlight and apply cold compresses on it. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe cortico-steroid along with anti bacterial or antiviral depending upon the diagnosis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari, Dentist
