Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swollen Collarbone With History Of Spinal Cervical Fusion?
My husband had a spinal cervical fusion 3 months ago. Today he pushed my daughters car and felt a pop. Now on the right side his collar bone by his wind pipe is swollen. It hurts, he s icing it. What do you think. He thinks it s just muscular. I think he should go to the dr or hospital
As per my clinical experience, feeling a pop following car push cannot be taken as granted for muscle pain (which usually does not pause a pop). There can be possible clavicle fracture or crack in this instance as there is swelling over the same part described in narration.
A visit to your primary care with an X-ray of the chest is best recommended at this point of time to avoid any future problems arising from this episode.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
