What Causes Swollen Eyebrows?

I was seen at Healthfirst Wednesday when I noticed my eyebrow swollen. They said it could be from a bug bite. They prescribed antibiotics and prednisone. I ve noticed puss coming out and today I felt a little knot on my neck on the same side of this bite. My question is does this have to do with my infected eye? I plan on going back tomorrow to have it checked out.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Swollen eyebrows are secondary to infection of the accumulated fluid in the subcutaneous space (caused by bug bite). Neck knot is definitely related to your infected eye. It is the reactionary lymph node enlargement secondary to infection in the drainage area of the lymphatic system. It usually gets resolved once infection is over with proper management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel
