What Causes Swollen Face After Taking Ciplactin And Decdan?
HI DOCTOR, 2 YEARS BACK I USED Ciplactin & DECDAN TABLETS FOR 3 MONTH, SINCE THAT TIME MY FACE BECAME BIGGER,DULL & MY EYES GOT SWELLED. BECAUE OF MY FACE I LOOK FAT. I ALSO GAINED WEIGHT FROM 49 TO 63 KGS BUT SOME TIME AFTER I M STOP TO TAKING THAT MEDICINE AND AFTER THAT I M FEELING SO DULLNESS IN MY BODY THEN I M FEELING SO WEAK TILL DATE AND NOW MY WEIGHT IS ALSO LOOSE IS NOW 52 TO 51 KGS. AND I ALSO FEEL LIKE I M LOOSING MY CONFIDENCE PLEASE SUGGEST WHAT CAN I DO NOW???
Ciplactin (Cyproheptadine) is unlikely to cause weight gain. Facial puffiness with weight gain was due to Decdan (Dexamethasone) causing sympathomimetic Iatrogenic Cushing syndrome. You have not mentioned the underlying illness for which cortico-steroid was prescribed for a period of 3 months.
You need re-evaluation by a physician. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thank you.
