What Causes Swollen Feet And Hands With History Of Having Prostate Removed?
My husband is 69 yrs old and has swelling in feet, toes, hands, fingers and legs. He is overweight and our MD says he is just heavy. I cant help but think there is an underlying problem. He has had his blood checked for diebits and he has had prostrate removal. Any thoughts. Oh yes Md says blood pressure is great.
As per my clinical experience, the swelling of hands, feet, toes, fingers and legs at an age of 69 do indicate various possible issues. Some of the common pathology may be indicative of: - Fluid retention through weakness of cardiac pumping - Kidney issues - Low hemoglobin - Protein deficiency - Liver disorders
It is association of certain data facts of laboratory such as a complete hemogram, kidney function tests with blood urea nitrogen, creatinine ratio, urine analysis, liver function with SGPT, SGOT, prothrombin time, X-ray of the chest and 2 D echo heart are very essential in this regard.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
