What Causes Swollen Foot While Having Diabetes?

I am a type 2 diabetic and my left foot is unexplainedly swollen, have a few small cuts but no indication that they are infected. lower leg might also be a bit swollen. Leg hurt during the day today. These are new symptoms for me. Missed by insulin shot each of last 2 mornings and my metformin last 3 days. Now have picked up the meds and taken them recently. Do I need to rush to hospital, visit doc tomorrow, visit doc asap?
