Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 5 year old daughter has a large brightly colored swollen gland or lymph node on her neck. We have treated with three different antibiotics (Keflac, Septra, and Z-pak) with almost no change. We are currently testing her for bartonella (cat scratch fever, and lime disease). Her ENT doctor is certain it is Cat Scratch Fever but I can t find anything that looks like the knot on her neck. Do you have any advice?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is pure lymph node with swelling redness, tenderness then chances of formation is very likely and this need to be drained and then pus need to be send for culture sensitivity test, this is the best option you have, it is for sure that it is infection, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
