* The swelling of glands involving face, jaw, and neck indicate acute viral infection with secondary inflammation of salivary glands which can be parotid or submandibular region gland.
* Once the underlying viral infection gets under control, gradually you will get resolution of swelling of the swollen glands and neck as well.
My guidelines at present
- drink more liquids
- gargles with salted lukewarm water added peppermint oil 3 times/day
- avoid stuff which require excess chewing during eating
- consume antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medicines prescribed by your doc on a regular basis
- avoid aerated drinks, dairy stuff, ice cream etc.
Do not hesitate for any follow up discussion regarding your health.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
