What Causes Swollen Glands In The Neck And Watering From Eyes?

HI, Last Sunday I woke up and my eyes would not stop watering and they were sensitive to UV light. By the afternoon it stopped and they were fine other that they were both bloodshot. The next day I woke up and my left gland is swollen in my neck. It gets huge then it goes down then it grows again. It is Wednesday and I am still having the same problems with it. I had this happen one other time about a year ago and I took some benadryl thinking I was having an allergic reaction to something and it went away. Should I take Benadryl again for this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to tonsillitis. For that you may require complete hemogram, throat swab after ENT consultation. For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Continue saline or betadine gargles twice a day. Keep your self hydrated. Take hygienic food and water.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam Kale, Family and general physician
