What Causes Swollen Hips And Soreness In Lower Back?

My17 y/o daughter has been to the emergency room twice in the past week along with her doctor three times. She has been complaining of swollen hips, sore lower stomach area, and sore lower back. All 5 times was told nothing is wrong. Tonight I get home from work and she is in extreme discomfort on and around her left hip joint area. She is not pregnant, what/ where should I go/do next.

Your 17 year old daughter is suffering from swollen hips. and soreness in the lower back, sore lower stomach area. She is not pregnant. Her symptoms are indicative of UTI or kidney infection. Other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms are gall stones, IBS, peptic ulcer, ovarian cancer, etc.

You are suggested to get your daughter clinically examined by a GP, get her a complete medical examination (blood works, urinalysis (R/E and C/S), done to detect the pathology causing her symptoms and discomfort. Symptoms of back pain and abdominal bloating occurring together may be a warning sign of ovarian cancer. Abdominal bloating and pain in the stomach occurs due to gallstone moving from the gallbladder into one of the ducts leading out. Get her treated at the earliest.
