Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend was ill with flu like symptoms 2wks ago and has slowly been recuperating. but now his jaws and throat and neck are severely swollen and getting bigger each day. he went to his Dr. And he put him on antibiotics for congestion and infection but never said what was causing the swelling and my friend is getting very ill again. He looks like a bull frog and getting lifeless. No desire to eat or do anything. Can you help? Thank you.
thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....
see the reason cannot be diagnosed unless specific investigations are done....only the various reasons like strepto infections, diphtheria, ludwig's angina, some pharyngeal abscesses etc can be thought of and the treatment is started on that assumption.... because your condition is quite severe, i would say that you continue your antibiotics, gargling, maintain oral hygiene and visit an ENT specialist as soon as possible....proper investigations should be done and treated accordingly....
hope this was helpful... regards
