Hello,
Thanks for your query on HCM
"As"per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this -
1)Do a
blood test for [Rheumatoid factor] and [Cyclic citrullinated peptide]to confirm it.
2)If confirmed then consult with your Doctor about [Corticosteroids]for short term for swelling and inflammations.
3)Do consult with a [rheumatologist] and discuss [Disease-modifying anti rheumatic drugs and biologic agents]
Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this-
1)Exercise is important because it promotes both muscle strength and joint flexibility. Swimming is an excellent choice because it places minimal
stress on joints. So talk with your physiotherapist about it, and he will guide you.
2)Applying cold or heat.
Stiffness affects many children with
juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, particularly in the morning. Although some children respond well to cold packs, most children prefer a hot pack or a hot bath or shower.
3)Eating well. Some children with arthritis have poor appetites. A healthy diet can help maintain an appropriate body weight.
4)Adequate calcium in the diet is important because children with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis are at risk of developing weak bones (
osteoporosis) due to the disease, the use of corticosteroids, and decreased physical activity and weight bearing.
Hope that helps
