my labia minora just started feeling very sore and swollen right after i had sex with my boyfriend. this has never happened before. I don't know if its just because it got irritated from the bodily fluids around it. Also, will it go away? If you could let me know what you think it is that would be great!
Yes, labia majora swelling may be due to rough sex sometimes. However, this diagnosis should be arrived at only after ruling out the infective causes.
There are glands under labia majora. They are Bartholin's glands. If the male partner is having some sexually transmitted infection like gonorrhoea or chlamydia, these glands get infected and become painful. Later on this infection develops into abscesses in the Bartholin's glands. Every month during the menstruation, this abscess subsides temporarily due to rupture and then regrows again due to collection of the pus.
Please get examined form the Gynaecologist or STI specialist for these infections. If they are present, they can be cured by antibiotics. However, it is advisable that both of you take the treatment simultaneously for these infection(s). Delay in the treatment might lead to abscess formation; so please do not waste the time.
Please observe sexual abstinence till you are completely cured.
I am sure this helps you.
