What Causes Swollen Leg While On Treatment For Typhoid?
is treatment to typhoid fever results in leg swelling. My daughter is 2 years old she has typhoid fever yesterday when i went to doctor he asked weather their is any swelling in leg or weather she is walking like disabled. yesterday day she is fine but today she is walking like she as pain in leg.. can anyone suggest .
It seems less likely due to typhoid fever itself however sometimes quinoline antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin given to treat which can cause tendinitis in children and may cause such painful walking on muscle movement. However, it can be due to any other entity or local inflammation like cellulitis and pain killers and anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen may be used. For reassurance ultrasound of leg and radiographic evaluation may be needed after examination by an orthopedic surgeon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
