Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My friend has very swollen legs and feet. He does not have pitting edema, they are just very swollen and tight. Drs in emerge did ultrasounds no phlebitis, no restricted arteries or veins, but no diagnosis or indication of what the problem is and what is causing it. Can you help?
As per my clinical experience, in medical science, everything happens for a reason. It is the matter of under evaluation of the clinical data or possibly searching in various pathways than required direction. As the ultrasound and arterial venous system has clean chit, next comes the lymphatic system (elephantiasis or others), side effect of certain drugs (as Amlodipine for high BP), obesity, thyroid disorders. It is mandatory for detailed clinical evaluation, supportive data for extra details to find out the root cause and manage accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
