I ate a strongly sandwich one night and woke up with my top lip swollen. Went to doctor said it may be an allergy to something in the sandwich. Had pizza last night woke up with swollen top lip. Allergy or possibly something else. This has been a year between occurances
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain swollen lip specifically after eating is due to allergic reaction to some constituent of food leading to ALLERGIC ANGIOEDEMA OF LIP and you should observe and will definitely find a common food item due to which there has been an allergic reaction and this comes under the group of FOOD ALLERGIES.. The best way to prevent the allergic reaction is to avoid the food product and you should also get a blood evaluation done to rule out the causative agent for allergy.. For current allergic reaction you should take Allegra or benadryl.. Taking activated charcoal can also help as it absorbs toxins and chemicals from body and provide faster relief.. Do cool compresses over the lips..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
