Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hey my lip sometimes swells up, usually after smoking marijuana.. also my face gets itchy too sometimes. i smoke weed regularly and it only happens say 1 every 20 times so i just don t know if i m allergic to something added in the marijuana or if i m dying
As per your complain it seems that the symptoms of swelling of lip can be due to Allergic reaction causing Allergic Angioedema of lips.
If you smoke weed regularly and if swelling occurs once in a while then it can be due to any food or medication while other causes can be allergic reaction to any skin cosmetic, soap, lip balm etc.
I would suggest you to consult a Physician and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests for allergies can help in ruling out the exact cause of the symptoms and treat accordingly.
First of all make a note to stop smoking weed as it is very harmful for health. As of now take anti allergics like Levocetrizine. Do cool compresses over the lips. You can be advised injectable steroids and antihistamines to reduce swelling.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Honey Arora, Dentist
