What Causes Swollen Lump On Tailbone After A Fall?
i just fell off a chair and landed on my tailbone.. it has a huge lump, swollen..burning kinda pain but i can stand and walk without pain...just happened 30 min. ago...i have put ice on it just now ...i am not one that goes to emergency unless it IS an emergency so i dont feel like i am in any immediate danger but was wondering if there was anything else i can do or anything i should be watching for? thank you diane
As per my clinical experience, the swollen lump on tailbone after a fall is most likely collection of blood in form of hematoma. Primary guidelines for better recovery: - Local application of ice for 5 minutes each 3 times a day - Avoid sitting prolong - Use soft cushion or rubber tyre when sitting on floor - Prescription of antibiotics as ampicillin or Amoxycillin (to prevent secondary bacterial infection), proteolytic enzymes as bedanzen forte (for faster resolution of hematoma) - Analgesic as Diclofenac or acetaminophen in terms of pain episode or pain scale above 4 out of 10 - Control of blood sugar
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
