What Causes Swollen Lymph Node In Neck, painful Swallowing And Chills?
Hi, I went to the dentist about two weeks ago for two fillings on lower right side. My right lymph node under my jaw started swelling 4 days ago and is really large and hard. It has been a little painful but tonight it is much worse and I can barely swallow. I keep getting the chills and then get really hot. Do I have an infection?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of dental filling followed by a large lymph node under the jaw, now unable to swallow, got chills and fever. All these symptoms are suggestive of infection in the lymph node . I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a Doctor / Dentist. - Get investigated to know the WBC for level of infection, sugar to rule out diabetes. -Get started on broad spectrum antibiotics. - Anti-inflammatory medicines like Ibuprofen 8 hourly after food with PPI. - Review regularly, incision if required.
I hope this answer helps you.
